Browsing and likes
You can browse images, read approved comments and like pictures without signing in. The gallery uses a cookie containing a randomly generated visitor identifier to remember likes and help prevent duplicate likes. This cookie lasts up to one year unless you clear it earlier. Like records include the image identifier, visitor identifier and the time the like was recorded.
Email sign-in
Posting comments requires email sign-in. Supabase handles authentication, and Resend delivers sign-in emails. Your email address and authentication information are used to verify your account and help prevent misuse. Your email address is not displayed publicly with your comments.
The website stores your sign-in token and its expiry time in your browser's session storage. Signing out removes this locally stored sign-in information. Closing the browser tab normally clears session storage.
Comments
When you submit a comment, the website stores your account identifier, chosen display name, comment, related image, submission time and moderation status. Approved comments and display names are visible to everyone. Pending and rejected comments are not displayed publicly.
Please avoid putting private or sensitive information in your display name or comments.
Visitor analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics helps me understand visits, page views, referring websites, approximate visitor countries, browsers, devices and page performance. These reports help me improve the website. This analytics service does not use analytics cookies to identify visitors.
Hosting, email and external services
Cloudflare hosts and protects the website and stores gallery content, likes and comments. Cloudflare Email Routing forwards contact emails to a Gmail inbox. Google processes those messages as the inbox provider. Supabase and Resend support email sign-in.
These providers may process technical information, including IP addresses and security or delivery logs, to operate their services. Data may be processed outside Ireland or the European Economic Area, subject to the providers' applicable data protection arrangements.
Social icons are loaded from an external icon service. Your browser contacts that service when loading them. Social links take you to other websites, whose own privacy policies apply.
Why information is used
Information is used to provide requested sign-in and commenting features, remember likes, respond to messages, moderate comments, protect the website and understand its performance. Where personal data is processed, the legal basis is the legitimate interest in operating and securing this website and responding to visitors, unless another basis is required by law.
How long information is kept
Information is kept only for as long as needed for the purpose described above, including account access, displaying approved comments, moderation, security, correspondence and legal obligations. Retention depends on whether the account, comment or correspondence is still needed. Provider logs and backups follow the relevant provider's retention arrangements.
Your choices and rights
You can clear website cookies and storage through your browser settings. Doing so may reset your remembered likes and sign-in state.
Depending on applicable law, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email contact@aksharacouture.com with your request. I may need to verify your identity. These rights are subject to applicable exceptions.
You may also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission or your local data protection authority.
Advertising and updates
The website does not currently display ads. This notice will be updated when the website's features or data practices change.
